Join us for an afternoon of events honouring the short story in all its forms!

Suitable for age 14+

Join us on 15 June 2019 at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry for the seventh annual celebration of National Flash Fiction Day!  We’re hosting an afternoon of events celebrating the short short story in all its forms.  Events are free but numbers are limited, so booking is essential.

12.45pm – 14.15pm Flash Fiction from the Depths: A Workshop with Stephanie Hutton

Award-winning writer Stephanie Hutton will lead a workshop suitable for writers of all levels of experience. Practise strategies to harness the power and creativity of your unconscious mind to write flash fiction. Create stories that are fresh, different and resonate deeply. Surprise yourself, release yourself, get to know yourself!

2.30pm – 3.30pm Writing and Publishing Flash Fiction and Flash Collections: A Panel 

With Steve Campbell (Ellipsis), Ingrid Jendrzejewski (FlashBack Fiction and FlashFlood), Jude Higgins (Bath Flash Fiction and Ad Hoc) and Santino Prinzi (National Flash Fiction Day and New Flash Fiction Review), hosted by National Flash Fiction Day's own Diane Simmons. Join us for a discussion and Q-and-A on writing and publishing flash fiction.  We’ll cover everything from seeking publication in journals, to literary contests, to building a flash collection.  Feel free to bring your own questions.

4.00pm – 6.00pm National Flash Fiction Day 2019 Anthology Launch and Readings
