The Mee Club Workshop 3: Find Your Story
WORKSHOP LEADER: KRISTINA GAVRAN
Join the Mee Club as they guide you through storytelling, helping you to find your unique style and refine your stories.
The Mee Club workshops are designed to give you confidence and skills to tell your tale. Each one is different so come to one or all!
We all have stories to tell. Question is – how to find them? How to recognise what will intrigue our listeners and what is worth telling? Through games, word associations, guided recollection and simple creative writing we will discover motives in your memory that can be transformed into true life stories.
Maybe that necklace around your neck hides a story, or that scar on your knee, maybe it is a forgotten smell or taste of a new food, that feeling of jealousy or pure joy? Whatever it is, we will dig and dig until we find that 'pearl-story' that needs just a bit of polish to shine in front of everybody.
Kristina Gavran is a writer and dramaturg from Croatia. In her stories she plays with structure and motives, finding beauty in small things.
Open to all and beginners are welcome!
The Mee Club in residence at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum is funded by Arts Council England.
About The Mee Club
The world is waking up to the fun of telling and hearing true life stories! The idea is simple, people stand up on stage in front of a live audience and tell a story about something that happened to them.
Real people, not actors or comedians, telling seven minute stories to amuse, astound or enlighten. Come along to listen or to take part.
