The Mee Club Workshop 5: Back to Basics
WORKSHOP LEADER: TOM PHILLIPS
Join the Mee Club as they guide you through storytelling, helping you to find your unique style and refine your stories.
The Mee Club workshops are designed to give you confidence and skills to tell your tale. Each one is different so come to one or all!
We all have a story to tell, that one story that is itching to bubble to the surface. It could be as big as a life changing event, or as small as a moment that has stayed with you for a lifetime.
In ‘Back to Basics’, you will work with others to draw out that memory, shape the story and get it ready to share with an audience... Make it into something you can be proud of telling.
Our workshop programme continues with a second introductory session, for those who have discovered the club mid-season.
Tom Phillips - a working teacher - is a relative newcomer to storytelling. He has a wealth of experience with storytelling clubs, is a dab hand at floor spots, and can remember EXACTLY how it feels to face an audience as a beginner. You will be in very safe hands!
The Mee Club in residence at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum is funded by Arts Council England.
About The Mee Club
The world is waking up to the fun of telling and hearing true life stories! The idea is simple, people stand up on stage in front of a live audience and tell a story about something that happened to them.
Real people, not actors or comedians, telling seven minute stories to amuse, astound or enlighten. Come along to listen or to take part.
